How to Invest in Revolut: It Is Not Listed Yet
You cannot buy Revolut stock on any exchange: it is a private company with no ticker, and no IPO prospectus has been filed. Its reported $115 billion valuation comes from a secondary share sale in July 2026 that was open to employees and existing shareholders, not the public. Its chief executive has said a listing is about two years away and has said he prefers the US. Until then, the practical routes are to wait for an IPO, or to own listed fintech companies that look similar. This is analysis, not a recommendation.
Is Revolut publicly traded?
No. Revolut is a private company with no ticker and no live share price. Its valuation changes only when shares trade privately. The July 2026 deal was a secondary sale, which means existing holders such as employees sold shares to buyers, rather than the company raising new money. Revolut confirmed that a sale was underway but did not confirm the price. Reports put it at about $2,017 a share and a $115 billion valuation.
Revolut's valuation at its main funding and share-sale points. The July 2026 figure is reported by Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal and not confirmed by Revolut. The amber bar is Forge Global's indicative mark of $2,125 a share on October 15, 2026, not a completed trade.
Can a normal investor buy Revolut shares?
Not in any way the sources describe. The July sale was aimed at employees and other existing shareholders, and its size and buyers were not disclosed. Marketplaces such as Forge Global publish indicative prices for private shares, but those marks are estimates built from private trades and are not tradable quotes, and platforms that list pre-IPO shares are generally open only to professional or accredited investors, with large minimum amounts and slow resale.
| Route | Is it available? | The catch |
|---|---|---|
| Buy on an exchange | No | There is no listing and no ticker |
| Employee or existing-holder shares | Not to the public | The July 2026 sale was limited to current holders |
| Private-market platforms | Generally for accredited or professional investors | Large minimums, transfer limits, slow resale, and a price that is only as solid as the next buyer |
| Wait for the IPO | Yes, once it happens | No prospectus has been filed and no date is set |
| Own listed fintech stocks | Yes | Different companies, so not the same exposure |
Be wary of anyone offering Revolut shares through a message, an app or a website: because no public market exists, an offer cannot be checked against a live price. The same caution applies to the private companies in can you buy OpenAI (ChatGPT) stock and when will Anthropic go public.
How big is Revolut and what does it earn?
| Measure | Figure | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| Retail customers | 68.3 million at the end of 2025 (up 30%), over 75 million by July 2026 | Revolut results and press reports |
| 2025 revenue | $6.0 billion (up 46%) | Annual report, published March 24, 2026 |
| 2025 profit before tax | $2.3 billion (up 57%) | Same report |
| Valuation at $115 billion | About 19 times 2025 revenue and 50 times profit before tax | Calculated here from the two figures above |
| Banking licence | UK restrictions lifted in March 2026; an Australian licence granted in July 2026; a conditional US charter reported in September 2026 | Press reports |
Revenue comes from cards, interest, subscriptions, trading and crypto, foreign exchange and other lines, so part of it rises and falls with markets and crypto activity.
When will Revolut IPO?
Its chief executive, Nik Storonsky, has said a listing is about two years away, which points to 2027 or 2028, and told Bloomberg TV on October 8, 2026 that Revolut prefers a US primary listing. Reports of a $150 billion to $200 billion target come from unnamed sources, and Revolut has not confirmed a figure. As of the sources read, no prospectus (an S-1 in the US) had been filed and no underwriter named.
Plans of this kind change. A listing would only be a first step: once a prospectus exists, reading it will matter more than the headline valuation.
Which listed stocks are similar to Revolut?
These are tracked on this site, with the weekly data of October 23, 2026. They are not the same business, so treat the comparison as a rough guide to what the market pays for fintech:
| Company | Market value | Trailing P/E | Price to sales |
|---|---|---|---|
| Robinhood (HOOD) | $86.8 billion | 41.9 | 17.6 |
| Block (XYZ) | $47.3 billion | 132.5 | 1.9 |
| PayPal (PYPL) | $49.0 billion | 10.0 | 1.4 |
| Revolut (private, reported) | $115 billion | About 50 on 2025 pre-tax profit | About 19 on 2025 revenue |
At about 19 times revenue, Revolut's reported valuation sits near Robinhood's multiple and far above PayPal's. Nu Holdings, a listed digital bank, was reported at a market value near $69 billion in late August, but this site does not track it. The gap shows the private price assumes continued fast growth and licences across many markets.
What are the risks?
- No market price: a private valuation is whatever the last buyers paid, and it can be reset by a new round or a falling market.
- Regulation: reported fines include €11.5 million from Italy's competition authority in April 2026 over commission claims, and expansion depends on licences in each country.
- Market-linked revenue: trading and crypto income can fall quickly.
- Valuation: about 50 times pre-tax profit already prices in years of growth.
