Disclosures

The fine print, in plain English.

Everything on this page is meant to be read, not skipped; it's the honest version of the disclaimer you see at the bottom of every page.

Not investment advice

Nothing on this site is personalized investment, legal, or tax advice. We are not a registered investment advisor or broker-dealer, and no content here accounts for your individual financial situation, goals, or risk tolerance. All investing involves risk, including the possible loss of principal. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Always do your own research and consult a licensed professional before investing.

No sponsored placements, no affiliate stock picks

No company covered on this site has paid, or could pay, for inclusion, ranking, or favorable treatment. We don't run affiliate or referral links tied to any specific stock, broker, or trading platform. When display ads are present, they're clearly labeled "Advertisement," reflect a paid relationship for ad space only, and never influence editorial content, stock selection, or screening results. See our Advertise page for exactly what is and isn't for sale.

Hypothetical and model performance

This site's computed sample portfolio, the Mean Reversion screener's forward-tracked performance log, and any backtested results shown on this site are hypothetical and for illustration only. They do not represent actual trades, do not account for transaction costs, taxes, slippage, or the price impact of trading at scale, and no real money is invested behind any of them.

Hypothetical performance has inherent limitations that real trading doesn't: a backtest is calculated with the benefit of hindsight, and even a genuinely forward-tracked result (like Mean Reversion's log) assumes perfect, instant execution at the displayed price. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown.

Not affiliated with the investors referenced

This site references the publicly documented investing philosophies of Warren Buffett, Peter Lynch, Charlie Munger, Bill Ackman, Mohnish Pabrai, Stanley Druckenmiller, Jim Simons, and other investors, for educational commentary. Any checklist, "leans yes/no," or "what would they say" framing is this site's own editorial interpretation of their public writing and track record, not a statement by them, a review from them, or an endorsement by them, their firms, or their estates. This site is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any of the investors it references.

Where the data comes from

Every figure on this site traces back to one of these public or free-tier data sources, refreshed on a regular schedule, most of it weekly:

Finnhub

Fundamentals, quotes, analyst ratings, the earnings calendar, and insider trades (SEC Form 4).

Twelve Data

Daily price history, moving averages and 52-week lows, plus the prices behind the charts, correlation and crash replays.

SEC EDGAR

Each company's annual report (10-K) as structured data for the filings-based screens, and the 13F holdings and Form 4 trades on Superinvestors.

FRED and the Federal Reserve

Treasury yields, credit spreads, inflation and money supply from FRED (St. Louis Fed), plus the FOMC's meeting calendar and its Summary of Economic Projections.

FINRA

Consolidated short interest, reported twice a month by exchange member firms.

ECB Data Portal

Euro-area interest rates and money supply for the Dollar vs Euro page.

Shiller data via multpl.com

The Shiller CAPE and long-run earnings yield in the Crash Indicator.

CoinGecko

Coin prices for the crypto-season gauge.

OpenFIGI

Matches the securities in 13F filings to ticker symbols.

Free-tier data has real limitations: it can lag real-time markets by minutes to hours, and some fields (like a true 5-year average dividend yield) simply aren't exposed without a paid plan; in those cases we show the closest real substitute and label it, rather than approximate silently. Where a number is unavailable for a given stock, this site shows "n/a", not a guess.

No positions, no relationships

This site does not manage money, does not trade based on its own screens, and has no financial relationship with any company it covers.
